Private Development

The Engineering Department's Drainage and Development Group is responsible for the review and approval of public works and site engineering improvements proposed in conjunction with private development projects in the City of Garland.

When developing a project, time is frequently of the essence to the applicant.  The Drainage and Development Group is committed to making every effort in reducing construction plan review cycle time.  We have developed a comprehensive Site Development Assistance Guide to clarify the Engineering Department's role in the development process and the documentation typically required for plan approval and issuance of a Site Permit.  Following procedures and guidelines in this guide will reduce permitting cycle time and ultimately, it is our hope, lead to the beginning of a successful project.

Prior to making a submittal, please review the list of the Top 20 Repetitive Comments made by the Engineering Department on Site Permit submittals from April 2004 to November 2007.
